SIPHOSAKHE Ntiya-Ntiya is twiddling thumbs at Kaizer Chiefs Village, Naturena, doing nothing, as he is still unable to find a new club.
The left-back was placed on the transfer list at the end of the last season, together with midfielder Lazarous Kambole. While many still wonder about his whereabouts, the 25-year-old player is training with the Soweto giants keeping fit with the hope to impress coach Stuart Baxter in a bid to get off the transfer list.
The club signed Sifiso Hlanti from Swallows FC before the start of the season while Reeve Frosler and Sibusiso Mabiliso also played in the same role making it highly unlikely for Ntiya-Ntiya to get the nod.
According to the player’s agent, Jazzman Mahlakgane, the former SuperSport United star from Bizana, Eastern Cape is still contracted to Amakhosi until 2023.
“Ntiya-Ntiya has a contract with Chiefs. He is still training with the team, but is not making the starting line-up,” Mahlakgane said.
If he attracts a new club, Ntiya-Ntiya is likely to move before the next transfer window opens in January.
But if Amakhosi part ways with him after January, he will have to wait for the next window period (in June) before he could play for another team.
This is because Fifa rules prohibit players who were not free agents to sign with new teams outside the transfer window.
Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa also confirmed that Ntiya-Ntiya is still available at the Village and is part of Amakhosi.
“He is playing (registered) for the club even when he is transfer-listed. He is a full member of Kaizer Chiefs.”
