FORGOTTEN former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder player Aubrey Ngoma is hoping to find a new a team in the New Year.
The 32-year-old has been clubless since he parted ways with the 10 times DStv Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of last season.
The well travelled star spent last season on loan with Cape Town City as he was struggling for game time at the Tshwane giants.
The Citizens were reported to want to sign him on a permanent deal after the winger impressed them while on loan, but they could not agree on Ngoma’s personal terms. But with his talent, Ngoma is likely to find a new team during the January transfer window period.
There were also reports before the start of this campaign linking the Hammanskraal-born player with Premiership newcomers Sekhukhune United.
“I don’t have a team but I am hopeful it won’t be long before I’m back on the field,” said Ngoma.
“I’ve been training hard working by myself. But I am optimistic I will find a team in soon.”
Ngoma, who has also played for Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, GladAfrica Championship outfit Pretoria University and defunct Mpumalanga Black Aces, was speaking at the New Jerusalem Children’s Home in Midrand where the German-based side Arminia Bielefeld donated soccer kit, toys and groceries to the orphans.
“This initiative by Bielefeld will inspire the orphans and show them that their current situation does not determine their future. This initiative will also encourage them to work harder towards their dreams. This will bring the light to their dreams,” said Ngoma.
