ORLANDO Pirates Coach Mandla Ncikazi believes that his team can beat CSMD Diables Nors in the CAF Confederation Cup second leg on Sunday next week at Orlando Stadium.

The Buccaneers were held to a 0-0 draw away at Nors, and they will have to score and defend like they did yesterday if they have any hopes of going through.

Ncikazi said he was happy with the performance and the application he saw from his players in that match.

"Based on the conditions that we've faced in Congo Brazzaville, let's take the point, take the performance of the players, the conditions, artificial turf, and how the opponent treated us," he said.

He said that the personality and character of his players need to be appreciated.

"Let's take the point, we are not done yet. Remember if they score at home again there's a problem but I think we have the capacity to beat this opponent especially when we play at home," he said.

Ncikazi and his team now have an idea of what kind of team Nors are, and he studied them on Friday, which allows him to prepare better for the second leg.

He said Nors is a direct team that looks to put the ball behind the opponent's defence and likes to play crosses.

"They've got rulers on the sides to put a cross. Let's stop the crosses, let's deal with their threat inside the penalty area but again we have the ball, Pirates must play and if we do that and get comfortable on the ball, I think we will get the results," he said.
