HE scored a great goal and became an instant choice for man of the match - and then he almost died!
In the fierce semi-final against Chippa United Khama Billiat from Kaizer Chiefs sealed a win 4-2 win against Chippa.
The 28-year-old attacker put in a Man of the Match performance over the weekend as the Glamour Boys beat Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup semi-final at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Billiat displayed the best football since joining the Glamour Boys last season.
On Sunday, just a day after his spectacular performance, the car he was driving allegedly burst a tyre while he was driving near the M1 near Woodmead and the car hit the pavement.
He was apparently on his way home in Midrand from the team’s headquarters in Naturena.
The star apparently escaped unharmed.Chiefs spokesman, Vina Maphosa, confirmed the accident to Daily Sun.
“Billiat’ s car had a tyre bust when he was going to his home in Midrand and the car hit a side pavement after slightly losing control.
“It’s unfortunate. We can’t do anything. It was a tyre burst. We are happy that he was not injured,” said Maphosa.
Daily Sun contacted Billiat but he refused to comment.
“I’m not allowed to do such interviews at the moment,” he said.“You have to talk to the club so I can get a permission to speak.”
Maphosa said the team is looking forward for tomorrow’s league game against Golden at FNB Stadium.
