BAROKA FC coach Dylan Kerr says he would love to stay at Bakgaga beyond this season.
Kerr joined Baroka in January, replacing Wedson Nyirenda and since his appointment the Ga-Mphahlele based outfit have improved despite still sitting in the Absa Premiership relegation zone.
Under Kerr, Baroka have reached the Nedbank Cup semi-finals where they are scheduled to meet Bloemfontein Celtic once the Premier Soccer League resumes. The PSL was suspended in March due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
On his future with Baroka, the former Black Leopards coach said for him to stay with Limpopo-based outfit will be determined by the results in their remaining seven league matches.
“There is always pressure as coach,” said Kerr.
“The results will dictate my future, but I want to stay with Baroka. My aim for now is to do my best for the club, players and supporters in the remaining games of the league and Nedbank Cup.”
Kerr also revealed that no more players will be released this season, though rumour has it that they might let go Prince Nxumalo at the end of the season.
Baroka last week released four players – Kamogelo Mogaswa, Ranga Chivaviro, Mogau Khwinana and Tebogo Sodi.
“Football is tough right now because of Covid-19 as the teams have challenges and the football world has changed,” explained the Englishman.
“We have seven matches left and we need to concentrate more on the squad of players who will feature in those games. But we also felt releasing players early gives them a better chance to find new clubs.
“The ones we released are good lads and did well for me but we have a big squad. I always discuss the way forward with the chairman Khurishi Mphahlele.”
