Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein has joined Sabail FK in Azerbaijani.

Ekstein, had been on the market since his departure from Sabah in December.

The player who ruled out returning to the Absa Premiership opted to move back to Azerbaijan, where he will team up with Ghanaian legend Michael Essien.

Ekstein joined the club on a one-and-a-half-year deal and he will don his favorite jersey number 27.
