KAIZER Chiefs are prepared for whatever gamesmanship and shenanigans by Simba SC ahead of their second leg Caf Champions League quarterfinal.

The Soweto giants travel to Tanzania for the crunch match set to take place in Dar es Salaam at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

They already have one foot in the semi-finals of the competition after they thumped Simba 4-0 at the FNB Stadium last week.

But Simba are not expected to go away easy, especially in their own backyard with the backing of 10 thousand vociferous supporters expected at the stadium.

Wekundu wa Msimbazi, as Simba are affectionately known, remain hopeful that they can pull off a stunning comeback and upset Amakhosi.

And they are expected to do everything in their power and use every trick in the book – as teams often do in Caf competitions – to get the better of their opponents.

But Amakhosi are prepared for a hostile reception in Tanzania and believe they are well equipped to deal with all the obstacles that could be put in their way.

“It was a great result in the first leg,” said assistant coach Dillon Sheppard.

“I mean, to score four goals against a top team like Simba is always good and it has set up the tie nicely for us.

“We know it’s going to be different going away from home, it’s always going to be tougher but we know what we need to do. We have to ensure that they don’t score.

“We are not going there expecting things to be easy, we know what lies ahead. We just have to stay focused.

“We have heard of all the things that could happen to go that side with the transport and at the stadium. We have to be prepared.”

Chiefs Marketing Director, Jessica Motaungecjoed the same sentiments, adding that the team will not be distracted by anything from their mission

“I’m very concerned about the shenanigans that we might face in Tanzania,” added Motaung.

“However, we can’t let that distract us. It’s unfortunate that some teams play tricks and have different agendas.”

Motaung was speaking at the FNB Stadium where the club was rewarding their youngsters, Njabulo Blom and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, for their sterling performance in recent months.

The pair drove away with brand new wheels.
