The match was scheduled to kick-0ff at 6pm, but Amakhosi did not arrive at the Stadium.
Chiefs had announced on Friday that they were "unable to host Cape Town City" on Saturday after a Covid-19 outbreak at Naturena found 31 positive cases among the club's personnel.
Late on Friday, Chiefs released another statement insisting that they could not host The Citizens.
"Unfortunately, this is the only option available in the current situation and, as a responsible corporate citizen, Kaizer Chiefs upholds its duty to protect the lives of those around us - including others - and do our best to avoid an outbreak that might potentially affect the league and the country," read their statement.

On Friday, City arrived in Johannesburg and on matchday, they travelled to the venue. On their arrival, gates were locked and they were forced to wait outside.
The match commissioner was also in attendance with the Citizens, who revealed the players' cards were checked on the team bus.City the left the venue as per match commissioners instruction. The Mother City-based club then confirmed that the game was called off on their Twitter account.
"Having followed all matchday procedures, Cape Town City FC was present at FNB Stadium for the start of the match at 18:00.
"Regrettably, Chiefs did not arrive, and the match officials called the game off at 18:15 in accordance with the rules of the game — a sad day for football," City said in a brief statement.
Now it remains to be seen whether Amakhosi will face the PSL DC or the match will be rescheduled for another day as Chiefs players and staff are currently isolating.
