South African Boxing legend, Peter "Terror" Mathebula, has died.
Mathebula, who grew up in Mohlakeng Township near Randfontein in Gauteng, was Mzansi’s first black world champion.
He won the WBA flyweight crown in 1980 in the United States beating Tae Shik Kim from South Korea on points.
Mathebula is said to have drawn his last breath on Saturday at Leratong Hospital in the West Rand.
The 68-year-old had battled with illness.
