AL Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has opened up about his life in Egypt.

Mosimane joined Al Ahly in October last year from Mamelodi Sundowns in a headline move in South African football.

Since he arrived at Ahly’s Cairo headquarters, Mosimane has won a tally of four trophies -  two Champions League, Egyptian Premier League and the Egyptian Cup.

Coaching one of the most followed clubs in Africa has come with many challenges.

Mosimane revealed that he has been on the Cairo Shopping Mall once since he arrived in Egypt.

He said: “When you go to North Africa‚ life is not about playing golf and all that. There is no rest‚ forget all about that.

“I cannot go to a shopping mall. I have been there once in nine months, accompanied by three bodyguards who escorted me.

“People (in Egypt) look at football differently. Imagine you have got a team supported by more than the population of SA – 70 million.

“I buy things online – I buy things from SA‚ because I can’t move. It’s a bit crazy.”
