SOUTH Africa's Under-23 team has drawn some inspiration in Bafana Bafana's recent success ahead of their return leg of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
On Sunday Bafana qualified for this year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)with a 2-1 win over Libya, and the Under-23's are determined to qualify for their version of AFCON.
David Notoane's charges are in a good position to qualify after beating Angola 3-1 in Luanda on Friday, with the second leg taking place at Bidvest Stadium in Milpark on Tuesday evening (7pm).
"I have seen a lot of strange things happening in football and must be mindful of such pitfalls. But we watched Bafana Bafana seal a berth at the AFCON finals on Sunday and will draw a lot of lessons from there," Notoane told the Safa website.
"The lesson from Bafana Bafana game was how they controlled the game and make sure they seal the tie.
"They needed a point to qualify and controlled the proceedings in a very professional fashion. We will strive to do exactly that.
"I am very happy for Bafana Bafana qualifying for 2019 AFCON. Congrats to [coach Stuart] Baxter, players and everyone."
