BAFANA Bafana's rise in the FIFA rankings continued this month despite their inactivity.

South Africa are now ranked 77th in the world, one spot up from last month, and have overtaken Uganda to become the 16th-ranked African nation.

Stuart Baxter's men have not kicked a ball since November last year, when they lost back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Senegal.

Meanwhile, Tunisia maintain their top position on the continent ahead of fellow World Cup finalists the Lions of Teranga.

DR Congo, surprisingly, have leapfrogged both Morocco and Egypt into third place, with the latter having fallen from third to fifth in Africa.

Globally, Germany continue to set the pace in an unchanged top 10.

Africa Top 10 (World ranking): Tunisia (23), Senegal (27), DR Congo (39), Morocco (42), Egypt (43), Cameroon (51), Nigeria (52), Ghana (54), Burkina Faso (57), Algeria (60).
World Top 10: Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France, Chile.
