ORLANDO Pirates have finally confirmed the transfer teenage striker Lyle Foster to Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.

The SA Under-20 star is set to jet out to Monaco after both clubs confirmed the completion of his switch to the Ligue 1 club where has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Pirates broke the news on their Twitter account on Wednesday evening and wished the youngster well on his future, while Monaco did so on their website an hour earlier.

AS Monaco is a football club that competes in Ligue 1, the top tier of French football. Founded in 1924, the club is currently coached by former player Thierry Henry.

Monaco is one of the most successful clubs in French football, having won eight league titles and five Coupe de France trophies. 

The club has also competed in European football having been runners-up in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1992 and the UEFA Champions League in 2004.

Monaco confirmed on their official website that the teenager has committed himself to a contract until June 2023, and given that he is definitely one for the future the length of that deal could be extended should he impress.

The club also added that Foster will join the club's B-side to work with coach David Bechkoura.

Foster, who was promoted to the Pirates senior team at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, joins the likes of Lebo Mothiba, Bongani Zungu, Lebo Phiri and Keagan Dolly who are also based in France.
