Cape Town City head coach Benni McCarthy has earned his UEFA Pro Coaching Licence, the highest world-recognised qualification in football
This makes the former Bafana Bafana striker the the only South African coach in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to hold the qualification.
The Pro licence is the highest coaching certification available and generally follows the completion of the UEFA 'B' and 'A' licences.
McCarthy is now qualified to manage a football club in the top tier of any European nation's league system on a permanent basis. The 40-year-old is also able to now manage in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
Bafana Bafana's record goalscorer, lifted his first trophy as a headcoach in his second season with CT City when they defeated SupSport United to be crowned MTN8 champions.
It is the second final that CT City have reached in their short tenure under the stewardship of McCarthy who has made a highly impressive start to life in the dugout.
