BAFANA Bafana could have another chance of facing Nigeria in the 2021 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers.
The draw for the 2021 Afcon qualifiers will take place today in Cairo, the day before this year's final between Algeria and Senegal tomorrow.
Stuart Baxter's men were placed in Pot 2 for the qualifiers according to the latest Fifa rankings and it is guaranteed that they'll face one of the stronger nations when the qualifiers begin in October.
It could be one in the Pot 1 which comprises Super Eagles, this year's two finalists Senegal or Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia, DR Congo, hosts Cameroon, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Mali or Ivory Coast.
Since Bafana are in Pot 2, they'll not face nations such as Guinea, Cape Verde, Uganda, Benin, Zambia, Gabon, Congo, Mauritania, Niger, Kenya and Niger since they share the pot.
For the 2019 qualifiers, Bafana had Nigeria, Seychelles and Libya. They earned 12 points, finishing second in the group without conceding a goal in open play.
Bafana beat The Super Eagles in the first match of the qualifiers, but they lost 1-0 to West Africans in the quarter final of this year's Afcon last week at Cairo International Stadium.
The worse case scenario in the qualifiers it can be either Senegal, whom they faced in the World Cup 2018 qualifies. One in Pot 3 which can be Togo, or Equatorial Guinea who are in the Pot 4.
Bafana goalkeeper Darren Keet, who the 2021 Afcon finals will be his third if Mzansi qualify, is not faze of facing either Nigeria or any other strong nations.
Said Keet: "If we likely to be drawn against Nigeria, we have no problem. I think it'll be a good match for us, and we are always excited by any game to play against them.
"In the quarter final, tactically, they were good on the day and we struggled to get through them and score goals. At the end of they day they scored, they won the game and there's nothing to take away from it."
