The podium, or rather that pulpit-like thing at Gavin Watson’s funeral, was draped in ANC colours.
Most of the mourners – including former state president Jacob Zuma, about whom Angelo Agrizzi testified at the Zondo Commission to have received money via Dudu Myeni – were important ANC members.
Zuma told mourners he suspected foul play in regard to the circumstances that led to Watson’s death.
At the risk of being insensitive towards the Watson family, as a qualified motor vehicle assessor myself – and according to an independent witness – without any obstructing or offending motor vehicle in his way Watson accelerated his car straight into that pillar at high speed.
What does that tell you? The guy was committing suicide.
Period!
How then can Msholozi suspect foul play?
Rewind to the memorial service, where we see former water affairs minister Nomvula Mokonyane in mourning garb.
She, too, was implicated at the commission, and I think she felt it her duty to pay her last respects, even if it broke our own cultural beliefs.
Remember, the dead man was also just about to go to an inquiry.
