DEUTERONOMY 8:18 says: “But thou shall remember the Lord thy God: For it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth”.
This scripture announces the plan of God for the human race. God’s plan for those who revere Him and fully obey His statutes is financial freedom. God gives His people power to attain wealth.
However, it is clear that many of God’s people have only heard rumours about this promise. As a result, they confess it, compose songs about it and often shout, “I receive” during their church meetings. Despite all these confessions and shouting sprees that have become a religious ritual, they are yet to experience the fulfilment of this promise.
Is it perhaps because God has failed to keep His promise? Certainly not. The main cause of this major setback is the lack of application of scriptures. Let us examine the scripture above again. God gives His people power to get wealth. The word “power” means ability. The truth is that you are given ability or potential to acquire wealth.
Ability not used is as good as nothing. If you are able to walk and yet choose to sit there will be no movement. Child of God, you are given the ability to get wealth. This ability requires activity to become a reality. This ability is called a blessing. Proverbs 10:22 says: “The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich”. However, this blessing requires a deliberate action for it to manifest.
Shouting “I receive” in a church service will not affect your bank balance. But if you take your money and invest it in the right platform, it will surely bear fruit. Don’t be lazy. God promised to bless the works of your hands. Faith without works is dead. Start a small business. Try various platforms to invest or trade your money. Over time this will turn your status from poor to rich. Then you will rightfully sing, “I was poor but now I am rich”. In the next few weeks I will focus on the subject of financial freedom.
