John "Shoes" Moshoeu,  May his soul Rest In Peace, will go in the history books as one of Mzansi's finest dribbling wizards. Whenever "Shoes" was in possession of the ball deep in opposition territory, a goal or an assist was likely to happen.

If his fellow strikers were having an off day, Moshoeu would take the initiative and score fantastic goals. He was also blessed with immaculate back-heels that were loved by his fans and followers in the 1990s.

Shoes grew up in Diepkloof and started playing for amateur club Blue Whales. He started his professional career at Giant Blackpool where they destroyed SA giants alongside Fani Madida and Geelboy "Gomma Gomma" Masango. Moshoeu scored over 50 goals for Blackpool and Kaizer Chiefs came knocking.

He did not stay long at Amakhosi and went abroad to Turkey and joined Genclerbirligi. He also played for Kocaelispor and Fenerbahce and was coached by Franz Beckenbauer and Joachim Low.

He came back to  Chiefs at the age of 37 and still scored lots of goals and entertained fans with his amazing skills. After leaving Chiefs he joined AmaZulu where he still excelled, at over 40 years of age.

When asked about retirement, after he turned 40, Moshoeu said, "I'm not a cheese. I don't get mouldy with age.He died on 21 April 2015 after a long battle with cancer. May his soul Rest In Peace!
