SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant General Elias Mawela said they are monitoring looting hotpots around the province.
“Tshwane thus far is stable; we don’t have people gathering or looting,” Mawela said.

Several shops were looted in the area and cops had to fire rubber bullets and use stun grenades to disperse the large group of looters.
While in the Germiston CBD, businesses closed their doors following looting, in a video some of the shop owners can be seen loading what is left of their stock to panel vans trying to get to places of safety.
