A Tswaing Municipal worker survived an attack by security personnel on Tuesday.

The man was whipped, kicked and even hit with a brick on the head.

This was all captured on video taken by one of the women who were witnessing the attack.

Details of what led to the incident are sketchy at the moment and officials from the North West provincial Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs office said they are awaiting a report with clear details from the municipality.

MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Mmoloki Cwaile has noted a video clip doing the rounds on social media platforms, of a municipal official of the Tswaing local municipality who was attacked by security officers.

MEC Cwaile condemns the act of brutality and has requested the municipal council to deal with the matter as a matter of urgency.

“The community of Tswaing has suffered a lot due to lack of service delivery and they deserve much better than what is currently happening. We must never get to a situation where service delivery is compromised. Our people deserve better’’, he said.

The MEC has called for calm and assured the community that he will make sure that service delivery is restored.
