A man was shot dead by the cops on Thursday morning

One suspect was shot and killed in a shootout with cops.

The incident took place on Jan Hofmeyr Road in Westville near the Westville Village Market on Thursday morning.

It is not yet clear why the cops and tsotsis were exchanging fire.
