Minister in the Presidency,
responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the
National Planning Commission, Mr Jeff Radebe and the Executive Chairperson of
the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Mr Sifiso Mtsweni lead a ceremony
to officially launch and name the agency’s Head Office on Friday,10th November
2017.
The ceremony follows a decision to honour the commitment and sacrifice of one
of the frontline leaders of the Soweto Student Uprising of June 16, 1976. The
launch was attended by members of the late Tsietsi Mashinini’s family, friends,
NYDA beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Highlighted at the event was the need for the presidency to address the issue of #FeesMustFall and NYDA'S expressed support towards the movement.
