It was like a Hollywood movie scene as the gang of criminals who are still at large got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The thugs blockaded the busiest road of Manyeleti shooting in the air as they blew up three safes at Puma petrol station in Cottondale outside Acornhoek near Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.

The thugs allegedly bombed the Nedbank ATM at the Acornhoek old shopping complex by the railway line.

They bombed the ATM strong room and pieces of money and inked money was left scattered on the ground.

The drama unfolded just three days after a gang of criminals who are still at large blew up an ATM and ran away with an undisclosed amount of money at Beretta petrol station outside Dwarsloop near Bushbuckridge.

Frightened petrol attendant (47) told the Sun Team that he and his colleague were sitting in the station r est room when they heard noises of a falling heavy object outside the building.

"When we checked out on the CCTV we saw more than five gunmen running around the building. Two hit the restroom door with an iron bar trying to open it but were unsuccessful.

“Others broke the shop glass door and overpowered the cashier before they blew up three safes with cash inside four times as others were shooting in the air near the station, " he said.

Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said: "Upon arrival on the scene police discovered that the station drop safe was blown up and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.”

"Bomb disposal and crime experts recovered unused bomb on the scene. The police also discovered that the criminals blew up a Nedbank ATM  and its strong room collapsed with pieces of loose money and inked money was scattered on the ground. Suspects are still unknown yet," said Hlathi.
