COPS have launched a manhunt for suspects who bombed cash safes at two separate petrol stations in Mpumalanga on Monday.
Bushbuckridge police spokeswoman Constable Maryline Mmonwa confirmed cops were investigating two cases of business robbery.
According to Mmonwa, in the first incident a group of unknown suspects allegedly entered the Puma petrol station in Violent Bank and forced the staff to open the door.
They then bombed the safe and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before they fled the scene.
“We appeal to the public to help with information that can assist in solving the case to contact Colonel Joseph Mushwana on 013 799 5519,” said Mmonwa. In a separate incident, a group of suspects allegedly entered Vahlave Global petrol station outside Thulamahashe and held the staff at gunpoint.
They demanded cellphones and told them to move away from the panic button.
Mhala police spokesman Captain S’fiso Nyakane said the suspects entered the garage office and found a safe.
They instructed the cashier to get out before bombing the safe and running away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
“No arrests have been made yet but we urge anyone with information to contact Captain Alfred Mashele on 082 968 4153 or Mhala police on 013 773 0331,” said Nyakane.
