A PREGNANT school teacher in Florida in the USA was arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old pupil.

NBC Miami reports that the 41-year-old woman was arrested on Friday, 8 October, on multiple charges including child neglect, possession of a firearm on school property and contributing to the delinquency of a child.

It is reported that an investigation into the matter began in March after pupils at John I Smith told staff about the relationship between the teacher and teenage boy.

“Among the evidence seen by officials were a video of the teacher and pupil together, as well as messages sent between the pair. They were also seen having sex in the footage, it was alleged,” the article read.

According to the publication, the woman was released on Saturday, 9 October.

It is not clear whether she was released on bail or would be appearing in court.

Police spokesman Rey Valdes told NBC Miami that they would not speculate as to whether the boy impregnated the woman or not.

The school said it would begin terminating the teacher’s employment contract.
