FOR many, the first day of school will be forever be memorable!
But Gomolemo Mamabolo (6) wasn’t smiling.
She was taken to her classroom, kicking and screaming.
Grade 1a teacher at Bachana Mokwena Primary School in Ga-Rankuwa, Christina Loate said she is excited for the new year and new pupils.
“These beautiful pupils will be our future top achievers one day and I am happy to be their first teacher,” she said.
Zodwa Mahlangu (42) said her daughter Boitumelo Mahlangu (6) couldn’t wait for the day to come.
“She woke up very early saying I must take her to school. I am so happy, and I pray that God gives her light and that she passes all her grades,” she said.
Agnes Mashimbye (41) said her daughter was happy.
“She didn’t cry. She is looking forward to this new chapter in her life.”
Virginia Sekati (33) said her daughter Tshegofatso (6) was over the moon and walked like a model on her way to school.
“She woke me up at 5am saying that she wants to bath and go to school. I am sure she didn’t sleep because school was the only thing she was talking about last night,” she said.
