Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's legal team has filed the evidence she obtained during her investigations into President Cyril Ramaphosa's CR17 ANC Presidential Campaign at the Pretoria High Court.

The evidence relates to the R500k donation made by BOSASA CEO Gavin Watson. Last week Ramaphosa's legal team applied to have some of the records be sealed, including e-mails and bank statements.

In her report, Mkhwebane found that Ramaphosa had misled Parliament about that Ramaphosa had deliberately misled Parliament about knowing about the donation made by BOSASA.

Ramaphosa has since taken the report on the review. On Monday the Pretoria high court granted Ramaphosa an interdict to halt the remedial action in the Public Protector's report.

The status of the records is still unknown. News24 reports that officials in deputy judge president, Aubrey Ledwaba's office of which the records were filed, had issued a directive on Wednesday, confining the file to his office.

This Ledwaba says in the directive is because the issue around the records from the Public Protector’s office has not been resolved. Normally the records would be filed with the registrar.
