THE Da Vinci Institute has bestowed the Da Vinci Laureate: Social Architecture on the youngest professor in the world – Soborno Isaac Bari.
The institute said during the PhD graduation and president’s dinner, they would be honouring Bari and Mzansi playwright John Kani.
In April 2016, Dr Lisa Coico, president of City College of New York, gave Bari the nickname Einstein Of Our Time for his achievement on a series of tests in maths and science.
In a statement, the institute said: “In 2016 at age four, Bari received a letter of recognition from then-USA president Barack Obama. This was for his accomplishments in maths and science. In 2018 at six, he received a letter from Harvard University president Drew Faust.”
Last year, he also received the Global Child Prodigy Awards from Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi.
The young professor was also recognised by the principal of Ruia College, Anushree Lokur.
In an interview with eNCA, chairman at Da Vinci Institute Sechaba Motsieloa said Bari symbolised “hope of a new way of being”.
Motsieloa said he was an inspiration to a generation that could look at using science and maths to solve new complex problems.
