They’ve been linked in what has been called a “romantic relationship” after a voice clip was leaked.

But Tshwane Mayor Steven Mokgalapa and his roads and transport MMC Sheila Senkubuge came out guns blazing.

In the audio, the mayor can be heard having a conversation with Senkubuge and also calling various politicians’ names, saying they soon will be fired.

In the audio Mokgalapa can also be heard insulting ANC regional chairperson for Tshwane Dr Kgosi Maepa and calling Tshwane speaker Katlego Matheba a “witch” and calling former mayor Solly Msimanga’s policies “stupid”, as well as saying he has a “big head”.

Their conversation is followed by heavy breathing, which many people interpreted as the “mayor having a sexual encounter with the MMC”.

When asked, Mokgalapa responded “when colleagues talk to each other, are they in a romantic relationship?

“I don’t know where this insinuation comes from,” he said while briefing the media outside the Brooklyn Police station in Tshwane where he and Senkubuge went to open a case of blackmail and extortion.

The two denied that they was any intimacy between them.

They said they will leave it to the Hawks to investigate.

According to them there was nothing sinister and they don’t have any romantic relationship.
