A 42-year-old man from KwaMachi village in Harding south coast of KZN was
arrested with AK 47 and 303 rifle.
The man was bust after police were tipped off by its informers in the area last night. He was arrested by Port Shepstone public order police unit.
Cops spokeswoman Colonel Thembeka Mbele said
police recovered two 303 rifles, an AK 47
rifle and an assortment of 108 rounds of ammunition.
She said the suspect was detained and charged for being in illegal possession
of firearms and ammunition at Harding SAPS. She said the suspect is due to
appear at the Harding Magistrates Court.
"The firearms will be subjected to ballistic testing to
ascertain if they were used in the commission of any crime," said
Mbele.
