The official category 1 funeral service of the late Minister Jackson Mthembu is set to begin at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 09H00 in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga.
Mthembu passed away on Thursday due to COVID-19 related complications.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Friday that Mthembu will be honoured with an official funeral category 1.
He further requested that the national flag be flown at half-mast at every flag station in the country from Saturday morning until the evening of the day of the funeral.
The funeral service is expected to be attended by President Cyril Ramaphosa, Deputy President David Mabuza, family members and ANC NEC and PEC members.
At least 50 people will be allowed to attend the funeral.
Mthembu's coffin is expected to pass by his house before proceeding to the church.
