KZN’s
inkosi Muntukafi Nzuza has died…and this time for real.
Nzusa was twice reported to have died only to find out that it’s not true.
The 50-year-old inkosi from Eshowe northern KZN passed on Monday after a two month illness. His death was confirmed by his family and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Sipho Hlomuka on Friday.
His cousin Bonga Nzuza told Daily Sun today that inkosi passed on Monday. He said he was ill and has been in and out of hospitals.
He said inkosi died when everyone in the family thought he has recovered. He said inkosi has been declared dead twice by people who were spreading fake news but this time he was really dead. He said there was a time when family flocked to his residence only to find inkosi alive chatting with other amakhosi.
He said when he got to his residence and found him alive they both joked about his name Muntukafi which means undying person.
"We can confirm that he has passed on. He departed on Monday after two month illness and will be laid to rest on Sunday at Baptist Nazareth Church Judea temple in Eshowe," said Nzuza.
Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Sipho Hlomuka has described the suddenly death of inkosi Nzuza as a big loss to the traditional leadership institution in the province. MEC said inkosi was a fountain of wisdom.
"We are heartbroken by this sudden loss and express condolences to the family and the Nzuza community,” said Hlomuka.
He said he has dispatched a delegation consisting of senior management of the department to assist the family during this difficult time.
