THE heartbroken family of murdered Kgothatso Pula (27) has rejected a plea from the suspect’s mum that she is sorry for her son’s evil acts.
The 27-year-old’s body was dug up from her boyfriend’s yard by cops on Friday in Moletji Ga-Setati Village, outside Polokwane, Limpopo.
This was after four months of investigations.
Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said a suspect (30) has been bust and charged with murder and kidnapping. He’ll appear in the Seshego Magistrates Court today.
Kgothatso’s aunt, Tlou Pula (46), told Daily Sun she ordered the people from the suspect’s house to leave. She was emotional because she and other aunts went to the boyfriend’s family house in January to ask where her niece was. But the suspect’s mum said they couldn’t accuse her son of being responsible for her disappearance, and chased them away.
“They have no shame to say they’re sorry. Her son showed us messages from Kgothatso that she doesn’t want him anymore and she had a new boyfriend,” said Tlou.
She said Kgothatso’s mum died three years ago. “She was a good child. She completed her studies last year and was supposed to start work as a nurse next month.”
The suspect’s 56-year-old mum said it’s okay if Kgothatso’s family didn’t accept their apology.
“I didn’t know my son’s secret. He showed us her SMSes that said she found someone else. I went with him to Seshego Police Station to report a case of harassment.
“My son made me believe him.”
