MEN are not our gods!

These are the words of Correctional Services monitoring officer Ntswaki Seekane (45), who alleged a senior manager raped her.

Ntswaki from Harrismith in Eastern Free State said she wanted to break the silence about women being ordered to open their legs to get jobs.

“For years, I was a sex object for him until he eventually raped me,” she claimed about her boss.

She said it took her a year to open a case a few months ago as she was worried about losing her job.

“He would visit me in my office and flash his 4-5 at me and ordered me to touch it.”

She said the nightmare started early last year when he made comments about her clothes and told her she was beautiful.

“He started coming to my office and asking for a poke. I reported him to human resources but that didn’t stop him.”

Ntswaki, whose husband fully supports her in her ordeal, alleged last April the man raped her in his office after a meeting when everybody had left. “I was scared to open a case, thinking I might lose my job because human resources didn’t help me. But I knew I had to speak out. I’m no longer afraid.”

Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring said a 48-year-old man was arrested and charged with rape.

“His trial will start on 26 August at Harrismith Magistrates Court,” Mophiring said.

Spokeswoman Puleng Mokhoane said Correctional Services placed the man on special leave.

“His case is still pending investigations,” she said.
