COACH MILUTIN “Micho” Sredojevic is a wanted man.
South African cops are insisting that they want to talk to him regarding a sex offence case.
BUT MICHO HAS SKIPPED THE COUNTRY!
Gauteng Police spokesman Captain Kay Makhubele told Daily Sun a case relating to a sexual offence was opened.
“We are investigating a case against a soccer person and we request anyone with information that may lead to his arrest to assist us,” said Makhubela.
“As far as we are concerned, he is a wanted man and we are looking for him.”
However, a source told Daily Sun that Micho was expected to hand himself over to the police but he has instead skipped the country.
The source said Orlando Pirates and his lawyer were supposed to help in handing him over but when called by the cops, they said they couldn’t reach him.
“It was found that he had hit the road,” said the source.
Asked about the claims, club spokeswoman Thandi Merafe said she knew nothing.
“All I can confirm is that Micho handed over his resignation which the club accepted. I know nothing more than that,” she said.
Micho is accused of indecent exposure after he allegedly tried to force himself on a hotel cleaner.
While police are looking for Micho in South Africa, a YouTube video shows him in Egypt making promises about his new club, Zamalek.
“I have been coaching in Africa for 19 years. I have worked in seven countries,” he says in the video.
“But today I can say that my dream has come true after taking charge of Zamalek.”
He said that in addition to the Egyptian players, they have the best Tunisian players and the best three Moroccan players.
“Zamalek is a special club that you fall in love with as soon as you get into it. I want to work hard in order to achieve the fans’ goals.”
Having failed to deliver any trophy for Orlando Pirates in the past two seasons, Micho promised his new team great success.
He said his first goal was to win trophies and titles.
“I am well aware that the team always seeks to achieve victories,” he said.
Micho ended his stay in Mzansi with an embarrassing 3-0 loss to SuperSport United before his quick resignation in 24 hours.
This was before Pirates’ MTN8 match with Highlands Park and this has sparked a lot of speculation locally.
Daily Sun sent a text message to Micho asking about the sexual allegations against him.
His only response was: “My lawyers are dealing with that nonsense.”
