RESIDENTS of Eldorado Park, south of Joburg are still reeling in shock.
This comes after two young men were found murdered in a house in extension on Friday last week.
Their friend, who was seen with them the previous day, was also found dead at Klipspruit West Cemetery. All three of them were badly beaten and injured.
The men who were found in the house had their hands and feet tied with wires.
Sources told Daily Sun the three had allegedly broken into the house and were caught.
“They were then beaten and tortured until they died,” said the source, who also claimed residents didn’t condone theft, but that killing people in this manner was shocking.
“They should have taken them to the police and not torture them like this.”
Gauteng provincial police spokeswoman Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said police arrested two suspects aged 40 and 50 and launched a search for two other suspects.
“It is reported that police arrived at the house and found two bodies in one room, badly assaulted and wrapped in plastic. Both the deceased’s hands and feet were tied with wire,” she said. Peters said the victims have since been identified by their next of kin.
“Preliminary investigations revealed the deceased were last seen with a third person the previous day. Police are therefore also probing the possibility that a severely injured body found the previous day at Klipspruit West Cemetery could be that of the third person,” said Peters.
Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is urged to contact Kliptown police or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
