ERICK Malatji’s marriage of 20 years has gone bad and he doesn’t know who to turn to.
The 56-year-old from Madiga Village in Ga-Dikgale outside Polokwane, Limpopo, claimed his wife Makobu (44) has been abusing him emotionally since 2015.
He said he was forced to get a protection order against her in September 2016 and they have been sleeping in separate rooms.
“We started sleeping in separate rooms because she would hide my gun. I was forced to install a burglar door to my room,” he told Daily Sun.
Erick said he went to a funeral at Mantheding Village on 9 August and when he came back on Sunday Makobu had broken into the house and moved into his room.
“Now she is sharing my bed and I’m afraid of removing her. We were not speaking to each other,” said Erick.
Erick opened a case at the Sebayeng Police Station on Sunday. Police gave him a case number.
“She must go back to her room. I don’t know what might happen if she doesn’t move out,” he said.
Makobu told Daily Sun that they were talking to each other and they slept in the same room.
“We have resolved the issue of the protection order.”
She said she called Erick last week Friday around 9pm and he was at a noisy place.
“I had to break in to get some sleep,” she said.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe advised Erick to see the station commander Captain Samuel Sekgota for intervention.
