Eleven police officers have appeared in the Mahlabathini District Court in KwaZulu Natal in connection with the murder of an Ulundi man in October.
They will face a murder charge in connection with the death of Lindani Dlodlo on 7 October 2020 in Ulundi, said Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson Ndileka Cola.
The eleven police officers were arrested on Wednesday and appeared in court later that day.
"The warrants of arrest for the eleven officers of the law were authorised by the same court on 10 February 2021. IPID coordinated their arrest as they are based in different areas and units, so that they all appear in court on the same day," Cola said.
"They are facing murder, defeating the ends of justice and common assault charges," Cola added.
"They have been granted bail of R3 000 each and are expected to reappear in the same court on 23 March 2021," Cola said.
