accreditation

A senior cop who was believed to be involved in the murder of Andile Bobo Mbuthu from Hambanathi in Tongaat north of Durban was found dead.

The 49-year-old cop from Tongaat police station who was allegedly involved by covering up after the murder of Andile shot himself in his car on Thursday.

It is alleged that after Andile was brutally assaulted to death, suspects panicked.

One of the suspects then called this senior cop friend to ask for advice on what to do next.

MISSING KZN TEEN FOUND DEAD!

Apparently the cop instructed him that they must go bury the body he’ll deal with the complaint from family.

When Andile's family heard that he was beaten at the tavern they went to the tavern and were told that he escaped.

And when they went report to the Tongaat cop shop that he was missing they didn’t get any help.

The family reported the matter to the SAPS Provincial authorities and that’s when things started moving. Arrests were made.

The arrest of the six suspects led to the human remains that were found in a river.

The human remains are believed to be of Andile.

Meanwhile, KZN cops spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker initially dismissed allegations that a cop was involved in Andile's incident.

But mysteriously, the same cop killed himself.

Brigadier Naicker confirmed that an inquest docket was opened for investigation at Verulam after a cop was found inside a car with a gunshot wound to the head at Tea Estate.

"Circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated. No foul play is suspected at this stage," said Naicker.
