THUGS, your days are numbered.

This was the warning from Police Minister Bheki Cele, who addressed over 200 cops in Belhar in Cape Town yesterday.

He ordered cops to go to the streets and show thugs flames.

He said time is up for thugs who kill, rape, injure and terrorise women, children and innocent people.

“Those people must not have peace. The oxygen must be squeezed out of them. Criminals are wasting oxygen,” he said.

Cele, who was accompanied by his deputy Cassel Mathale, will spend the week in Cape Town monitoring police operations.

He said last month they brought more than 200 cops and 50 vehicles from other provinces to fight crime in the province.

“This province remains stubborn when it comes to crime issues. It remains stubborn in several categories,” he said.

“Of the 30 top crime stations, you’ll find that more than 10 of those stations come from this province, especially from this city.”
