A FAMILY of a Zimbabwean woman (39), who was found killed and burnt to ashes inside her rented room, is not coping with her brutal death.
Solomina Mbombe’s burnt body was found with both legs and hands tied with wire in Sekgakgapeng kasi outside Mokopane, Limpopo, on Tuesday evening.
It’s alleged that Solomina, the mother of two, had a fight with her boyfriend, who is also a Zimbabwean, over money a day before the brutal incident.
Taurai Mbombe (36) said it’s hard for them here in Mzansi and everyone back home in Zimbabwe.
He said his late sister has been working as a helper in Mzansi for the past five years, and was the one supporting the family back home.
He told Daily Sun they were not coping at all as they thought that the couple was living in harmony.
“I was in the other section when he called me asking me of my sister’s whereabouts a day before this incident. I was shocked because that man doesn’t just call me. I couldn’t believe when I found my sister entirely burnt on my arrival after being called by the neighbours. We are deeply hurt and no one is coping because she wasn’t just a mother, but a breadwinner to us.” Taurai said.
Abel Bombe (19) said that when they noticed flames coming from Solomina’s room, they saw her boyfriend walking on the street and asked him about it but he told them that he had just burnt rubbish in the back of the room.
“A few minutes later the whole room was covered with fire and we thought Solomina isn’t inside. But we were shocked to see a complete burnt body after killing the fire,” he said.
Limpopo police spokesman Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo confirmed that they were investigating cases of murder and arson.
“What caused the fire is unknown at this stage. The dead woman’s boyfriend, whom they used to quarrel a lot and she had obtained a protection order against him, was allegedly seen around the scene before the deceased’s room burnt,” Mojapelo said.
Mojapelo said the suspect was still at large and cops were searching for him while investigations continued.
