THE father who allegedly killed his four kids on Monday night was not a first-time offender.

Lucas Phasha (52), a lawyer, allegedly murdered his two sons and two daughters after accusing their 30-year-old mum, Sylvia Monyela, of cheating.

Phasha was allegedly struck off the roll after a murder conviction in 2008, according to Limpopo police spokesman Brigadier Motlasela Mojapelo.

This was after he shot and killed a neighbour’s child while chasing his girlfriend.

Daily Sun could not confirm the length of his prison sentence and when he was released.

He abandoned his bail application at Mecklenburg Magistrates Court in Moroke Village, outside Burgersfort in Limpopo, yesterday. He will make his second appearance on 28 May.

The bodies of Katlego (9), Joyce (7) and Tshepo Phasa (5) were found dumped in a trench. Three-year-old Adel Phasa was found with a crushed head three kilometres Phasha.

Nelly Motebejane (38) said her cousin Sylvia, and the kids had run away from him.

“She escaped to apply for a protection order while the kids were at school.

“Unfortunately, she was referred to another police station without any help. While she was there, he took the kids from scholar transport,” she said.
