COPS need counselling because they work with vulnerable communities.
These were the words of Aluta Sebitlo (57), the uncle of KhotsofatsoNonkonyana (32) from Parys, Free State.
Khotsofatso and her 18-month old son, Omolemo, were allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Sergeant Molefi Makume (37), last Tuesday in Virginia.
Aluta said they were shocked when they received the sad news.
“We’re truly hurt by the deaths of my niece and her child.”
He said Khotsofatso was working at the traffic department in Virginia when she met her death.
“There are rumours that my niece was involved with a monster. But his family did not traumatise us, their son did. Cops need counselling.
“No one is perfect and we all sometimes need to seek advice. That man knew how reasonable I was and what I wanted in life,” he said.
A cop at the scene told Daily Sun Molefi allegedly shot and killed Khotsofatso and her son before calling the police.
“When the police arrived at the scene he told them he had killed his girlfriend and child. Then he went into the flat and shot himself.”
Police spokesman Captain Malebo Khosana told the People’s Paper that a case of murder and an inquest docket were opened.
