WHEN the woman found herself face to face with rapists, she thought her worst nightmare had come true.
The woman from Payneville in Springs, Ekurhuleni, and her younger sister hailed a taxi on Sunday, thinking it was going to town.
But the men inside the taxi had other plans.
The woman took a crowbar from under the car seat and broke the window. The men stopped the car.
She saw a chance to escape and jumped out of the car. One of the men went after her but she outran him.
“I had to run as fast as I could. Sadly, they drove off with my sister.
“I cried because I didn’t know what those guys would do to her.”
She said her sister was taken to a hostel in KwaThema, where she was raped by four men.
After the ordeal, they released her and she was helped by an elderly woman, who gave her taxi fare.
She went to the police station and a case of rape was opened.
Police spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora said a suspect was arrested in Everest squatter camp.
Cops were still looking for three more suspects.
