RESIDENTS have named this road Kak Street because it’s always flooded with sewage.

The sewage has been running through the streets of Mhinga Village since March 2017.

A resident, Magezi Khosa (49), said: “Living in this village is as bad as living in a toilet. We inhale kak outside and inside our houses day and night. Our health is constantly at risk. We appeal to the government to help us before we die from this kak.”

Magezi said they have reported the problem to the Collins Chabane Municipality but nothing has been done to fix the problem.

“Municipal workers came and inspected the problem. They promised to return and fix it but they never did. We have lost hope in the ANC government. We won’t repeat the same mistake by voting for it this year.”

Municipal spokesman Ike Nukeri told Daily Sun: “The municipality was not aware of the problem. However, now that it has been brought to our attention, a technical team will be sent to the area to find the cause of the problem.”
