The owner of Skinny Sbu Socks, 27-year-old Sibusiso Ngwenya says he’s an angry black man who wants R5 million.
In an interview, on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Market Place, he said for the past five years his business has been struggling with distribution.
When the presenter of the show and a business solutions expert were discussing his business, he stopped them and said:
“Gents can I say this, I cannot seat here and be criticised. And I fully understand that, Listen to me – the issue here is not marketing. You know what small businesses need? We need money.”
“I am saying to you, the frustration can from me needing to use my personal funds to still continue growing the business,” Ngwenya added.
Feeling frustrated he further said: “I’m angry at everybody and I’m hungry for more, and I cannot hide it anymore.”
Founder of 2Larnie Solutions Thulani Thabethe who specialises in business solutions suggested to Ngwenya that in business he cannot be personal, saying he needs to take the emotions out.
“If you are a business leader, you have to be teachable. The spirit of being teachable, you have to carry it with you – you can’t know it all,” Thabethe added.
Skinny Sbu doesn't want your advise, he just want R5mil. He's true to the saying, "money talks". Fakimali yesokisi uzokuzwa otherwise sit down and eat your business advice with ice. Umzwile? Lol pic.twitter.com/jKI9uw6EAl

What I've gathered from the Skinny Sbu socks situation is that the oke is VERY entitled. Who should give him money with that kind of attitude? He needs to re-evaluate and regroup his business skills & acknowledge his mistakes otherwise there will be no growth for him.

Skinny Sbu doesn't want 'solutions', he wants a 'R5 million cash injection'. What is a solution? What is that R5 million in this context of his failing business? Someone, anyone, please school me. I might have been asleep in English class. pic.twitter.com/1e8HUlaad3

Optics matter and right now he is not coming off looking good and an investment attraction. He is angry & frustrated, NOTED.
Right now though, he is coming off as whiny, entitled and arrogant. pic.twitter.com/XfglIpS68r
