DRUGS with an estimated street value of R4.7 million were seized by the Hawks in Westgate, Mitchell’s Plain in the Cape Flats.
The Hawks say they recovered more than 11 bags of mandrax tablets worth over R4.7 million.
According to the Hawks when they raided the house, the drugs were found inside a neglected car.
Hawks spokesperson, Philani Nkwalase said they expect to made arrests very soon.
Police preliminary investigations revealed that the house may have been used as a channel to distribute drugs in the area.
"A total of 106 000 mandrax tablets were seized and efforts are underway to trace the suspects as well as the owner of the house.," Nkwalase said.
