FRICK is still afraid of the unknown people who nearly killed him.
Frick Kleinbooi (59) from Toekomsrus, Randfontein was stabbed nine times in his face last Monday morning at about 3am.
He said it was because he bought two pairs of trousers for R750 each and a new Sony sound system for R3 500 the previous week, and also renovated his room.
“Whoever did this obviously thought I had money, but I saved over a long time,” he said.
Frick remembers that four guys came in through the window of his shack and held him down on the bed.
“They stabbed me in the face,” he said.
The thugs took his sound system and his expensive trousers.
After being unconscious for a while, he woke up and shouted for his nephew.
“God wasn’t ready to take me. I shouted for Nicholas and he came running,” he said.
Nicholas Kleinbooi (45) said that when he got into the room Frick was lying in a pool of blood.
“He couldn’t even talk. All he did was say my name. I quickly called an ambulance.”
Nicholas told Daily Sun they believe the people who did this know his uncle.
“We will deal with them,” he said.
Nicholas’ wife Chantell said Frick is quiet and looks afraid. “I hope those thugs are ready for what is coming to them,” she said.
Randfontein cops spokeswoman Constable Carmen Hendricks said a case of robbery was opened.
She said it seemed there were two suspects and not four. They were arrested, but one was released because according to statements he was not connected to the crime.
“The suspect appeared in court last Wednesday and is behind bars awaiting his second appearance,” Hendricks said.
