SEVERAL houses have been burnt down in Ga-Sekgopo village outside Tzaneen in Limpopo.
These incident follow the recent protests in Ga-Sekgopo village, which lead to the R81route between Polokwane and Giyani being barricaded with burning tyres and rubble.
The police were then deployed which brought the situation back to normal in the area.
Police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said on Tuesday night a group of unknown community members went on rampage and torched houses belonging to one of community members.
Ngoepe said the motive behind this incident is still not clear at this stage, but police investigations would tell.
He said those who will continue with this barbaric acts, are going to be dealt with mercilessly and without compromise.
"Lawlessness will not be tolerated at all and if members of the community are having any form of complaints, they must raise them legally and peacefully without engaging in any violent action," Acting Provincial Commissioner General Jan Scheepers said.
The suspects involved in this incident are still unknown and no arrests have been made.
