SKELETON FOUND ON ROADSIDE

accreditation

STOPPING to have a pee next to the road is never a clever idea, but sometimes nature’s call is too strong.

But a motorist passing by Allerton near Glenrose in Heidelberg on Monday will think twice before again stopping for a pee.

His relief was cut short when he gazed about him and to his horror saw he was almost weeing on a skeleton!

The shocked man ran away screaming for the community to come and see what he had found.

Police were called to the scene near the R103. Spokesman Captain Johannes Ramphora confirmed that a human skeleton was found at about 12.45pm

“According to the motorist, he parked his car next to the street in the open veld to relieve himself when he noticed human bones and a skull,” Ramphora told Daily Sun.

“He immediately called the community and phoned the Heidelberg police to inform them.

“Police opened an inquest docket for further investigation. Further forensic investigation will reveal the cause of death and whether the deceased can be identified.”

Heidelberg cops asked people who might have information or any member of the public who has reported a missing person to contact Heidelberg police on 016 341 0343.
